Summahtime!

School's out. :) I have unplugged my clock in an official salute and am now grooving to Josh Groban on a boom box from the late 90s -- i.e. "the old fashioned way" -- and am unconditionally happy. Kind of a sucky year, to be honest.

And now, I am utterly and completely determined to perservere and finish this rewrite before the end of the summer, mid-July if I am lucky and actually decide to work on it. Which I intend to do.

I would report on current wordcount, but manuscript is mess with jumbled rewritten first chapters and spaces and notes as to what shall happen and if this should be chapter nine/ten/five etc., so it wouldn't be very accurate. Am currently reading Bridget Jones' Diary (loveit ... markdarcymarkdarcy :D ), was going to start on Something Blue but decided against it (hate prologues in books ... must get into it), just finished Something Borrowed (WOWamazing dexdexdex), and plan to read Bras & Broomsticks once I finish half of my summer homework ... which is so ridiculous and huge that I'm not sure if I can deal with it.

Got fortune cookie with friends today. It read, "Be sure to relax, especially when you do not have time to."

How appropriate.

Hm. I thnik I just heard a bit of electric guitar in Groban.

Interesting.

Well, must write! Love thees. <3

Howdy

Hello :) I've decided to start afresh, seeing as, according to LJ, it's been 33 weeks since my last entry, and a lot has changed. That lovely word-o-meter up there is for my current rewrite, which I'm currently calling Once Without the Lyrics/Hit Singles/An Unexpected Song/Something Between Music and Lyrics, and I hope to get a lot more done now that I have HERBIE.

Herbie = new laptop. He's an acer aspire 1.0 and he's tiny and cute and i love him. i hope to get a lot more word on the rewrite now that i can stay up til ungodly hours writing it.

The general plotline is that it's a chick lit about love, friendship, and jealousy. Cat, the MC, and her best friend, have landed themselves on an American Idol-esque television show, and it all snowballs from there.

Also, I just got word from Teen Ink! :D The short story I submitted is going into their June issue, and I won their bi-annual fiction contest for the summer! I am so excited!

ily, Julia
(formerly Emmy until Salz and I decided that we didn't want to use nicknames anymore.)
